Armed Robbers Kill Lord’s Chosen Pastor

  
Armed robbers have shot dead a pastor of the Lord’s Chosen Church in the Ijesha area of Lagos. The deceased, identified as Chukwuemeka Akpokpo, who was driving one of the church’s buses, was reportedly attacked by the robbers on Monday at Alakoso Avenue, off Ijesha bus stop.


The minister was said to be coming back with an aggregate of cash gathered from a bank at Apple Junction, FESTAC Town, when the occurrence happened. He was said to have been shot in the head, while the looters carried off the cash.

An inhabitant, who guaranteed to be an onlooker and distinguished himself just as Cornelius, said the criminals, who were two on a bike, had prowled in the range, sitting tight for the pastor.

He said, "It was at around 3pm. The pastor was shot by furnished thieves at Alakoso Avenue, off Ijesha transport stop. The assault and the executing of the minister demonstrated that it was in view of data.

"They had been hiding around the range for some time, yet nobody suspected that anything was fishy. When they saw the congregation vehicle drawing closer, they ceased him and asked where the cash was.

"The minister answered, 'Which cash?' They didn't even sit tight for any clarification. One of the burglars went inside the vehicle and took the cash. The other pack part then shot him in the head."

It was learnt that Akpokpo was hurried to a branch of the congregation in the Ijesha range, and afterward to a clinic, where he was affirmed dead.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, affirmed the occurrence, including that the matter had been exchanged to the Department of Criminal Investigations, Yaba.
